Cut crown molding to fit between the two shelf brackets. Align the molding between the brackets, angled slightly so that the electronic devices will tilt back when resting on it, making their screens easy to see. Leave a 1-inch gap between the molding and the base. Using a hammer and 4d finishing nails, secure the molding in place through the outside of the brackets. Putty the nail holes, sand the wood, and finish the station with stain or paint.
TOH Pro Tip: Tom Silva, TOH general contractor says, "Leave a gap between the molding that makes the back of your station and the station's base—enough to fit the smaller plug end of a charging cord. That way, you can thread the wires discreetly out the back of the station to let them drop behind a desk."
