Step 1: Glue and Nail Rosettes

Using a circular saw, cut a piece of 1x3 to the length of the four rosettes lined up side by side. Apply wood glue between the rosettes and along the front edge of the 1x3. Glue and face-nail the rosettes to the edge of the board, driving a 4d finishing nail at the two bottom corners of each rosette.
