Q: In trying to make the pocket door in our library functional, we took
down the trim — only to discover that the track has come down from the
inside of the door jam. We have tried to figure out how to hang the
track again and are at a loss. The track is contained inside the door
jam with very little room for movement of tools. Can you help?

A: Tom Silva replies: I know this situation because I've been in it, so I can relate to your frustration. What you have to do is experiment. I've put wedges in place and used multiple screwdriver extensions to get into tricky spots. Unfortunately, there's no easy answer. You have to be creative.
