A: Roger Cook replies: You can use any stone for edging beds, but brick, cobbles, bluestone, and granite are the traditional choices. The key is to excavate below them and install gravel for drainage. I use cement to hold them in place, but for a more rustic look you can set them in gravel and let them move a little.
