Before: Clutter overwhelmed the small office, leaving little room to work. Dark, mismatched furniture made the space feel dreary.
The Work
They fastened the storage units to the wall and bridged gaps with medium-density fiberboard (MDF). Above the built-in desk, Ronda created a paper-sorting station out of MDF and marked-down beadboard, embellishing it with molding and brackets. Finally, she reattached the old baseboards, topped the cabinetry with crown molding, and painted it all white. "It functions so well, and gives my kids room to work too," says Ronda. "Even if I'd spent thousands of dollars, I couldn't be any happier!"
